Chris is home!

Chris arrived home on Tuesday morning at 3:30am! We were super excited to see him and spend time with him.

While in NC, I only took one photo...on my phone. I'll update more when I get the pic's from Lea and Steve and Sharon :)

Suitcases are packed!

I don't want to give out dates or anything because I think that it will jinx things (and the Army constantly changes things, making it very hard to plan) but Chris is due to return from Afghanistan to North Carolina VERY SOON :) I've got his things packed and will be working on mine in the next few days...Yay!

Just a trim...

On Friday, I got a trim and my highlights retouched. I'm loving the caramel highlights for spring/summer. Kim, the stylist that I've been seeing for the past year, is moving to Cinci next month, I'm bummed! I'm not usually a long hair girl, but Kim has been great at helping me grow it out over the past year. She will be missed!

Cooking Classes=Awesome

On Saturday, Danielle and I attended our first cooking class at Sur la Table. It was taught by a professional chef who has worked at several of the better restaurants in Columbus but wanted better hours (he has a 7 week old baby, I don't blame him). We attended their "Cooking with Le Creuset" class. There were 8 people in our class so there was a lot of hands on experience and we were able to ask questions freely of the instructor...very nice. The menu that we prepared consisted of: Cream of Asparagus Soup - Grilled Salmon with Basil Aioli - Tomatillo Braised Pork Loin - Lemon-Coconut Bars AND we got the recipes to take home so I will be making it all again because they were all delicious. As a bonus, we each received a Le Creuset grill pan:

I apologize for the bad photo of myself with the pan, the thing is REALLY HEAVY and it was hard to hold it up:

Poor Max...

Max found this bandanna on the floor after my last business trip. Since he was interested, I decided to have a little fun with it. I bet Max can't wait until Chris is home to stop me from putting ridiculous attire on him.

Curtains- 0 for 2

Today I bought curtains for the kitchen and the bedroom. Chris requested bedroom curtains that would block the street light that comes in the window next to his side of the bed. I went to Target, looking for something that I liked and was affordable...I thought these were good until I got them hung (Also, imagine hard wood floors in this pic, the carpet is coming out this summer):

I think the color is too light...maybe a chocolate brown? Also, standard curtain lengths are 63 and 84 inches and our rods are hung 80 inches from the ground. Other than making my own curtains, how do I over come this? Any suggestions?

These are the before curtains in the kitchen (from our apt. in NC):

And these are the after:

They are okay, didn't love them up and they aren't lined so you can see the sun shining through them so they are going back as well.

I did make one small home decorating improvement that I liked this week (the keys above the fridge):
