4 Year Anniversary

This weekend Chris and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary. We are now at 50% for spending the day together (He's been here twice, in Iraq once and in Afghanistan once). We were very low key on the day but last night went out for an amazing dinner at a place called G. Micheal's in German Village. Since moving to Columbus, Chris and I have been making a point to frequent local restaurants instead of chains. Needless to say, we haven't been disappointed yet, all the food has been great! Here are a few photos of us when we got home:

We've been trying to eat local! Last night while explaining the specials one of them was pork chop that was "Ohio raised pork that the chef butchered himself", kind of made us chuckle because we know lots of people that do this and it isn't anything special (guess that comes from growing up in farm country). Chris did order it and it was good but still made us laugh :)

Family Photos

A few weeks ago, Chris and I had photos taken. I wanted to get a few of him in uniform before he "retired" from the Army and just have some new photos of us for around the house/Christmas cards. Here are a few from our session with Stephanie's Creations:

Thanks Stephanie for some awesome photos :)

Circleville Pumpkin Show!

A few weeks ago, Danielle, Tim, my good friend Cari from Chicago, Chris and I made our way to Circleville for the Pumpkin Show. The weather was GREAT, a perfect night for walking around the show and apparently everyone else thought so too....it was super crowded! We were able to try many pumpkin treats: pumpkin pizza, pumpkin taffy, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin cream puffs, pumpkin roll, pumpkin pie, pumpkin waffles, pumpkin ice cream, fried pumpkin blossoms....you get the idea! We also saw the winner of the largest pumpkin contest in the parade, a crazy long parade, coming in at 1277 pounds. All in all, a fun night with good friends :)

Bathroom update!

Here are a few photos of our latest home improvement project! We had the tub refinished, painted, changed out fixtures (thanks to Tim) and added a new (actually old but better) shower curtain. If you don't remember what it used to look like, check it out here. Enjoy :)

Congrats to Nicole and Brad!

Over the weekend, one of my dearest friends got married! Brad and Nicole had a beautiful outdoor ceremony on a golf course and then a fun, fun reception after :)

First Day of School

Chris had his first day of orientation for his MBA program at OSU last week so we took a few traditional "First Day of School" Photos because I won't actually be here to take photos on his first day of class due to a trip to NY for work.

Chris ready for orientation. Business causal is their "uniform" while attending Fisher:

Chris and I, self portrait:

So far we've attended two Fisher events and I'm enjoying meeting the other students ant their spouses...very similar to the "forced fun" that we attended when Chris was in the military. There is even a "Fisher Partners" group we can join to hang out with other couples and one of them even lives near us!

And on an unrelated note, I colored my hair dark for the fall...a much needed change:

Gifts for Baby Canty

Here are a few photos of the gifts that I made for baby Canty...due it two weeks to our friends Mike and Kendra. We are so excited for them and I was so happy to be able to attend the shower while we were in NC.

Stuffed animals, I LOVE these and they will become a baby gift staple!

The whole gift package...the bib needs work still:

So much going on...and no desire to blog about it!

Maybe it's because Chris is back and we hanging out together but I've had no desire to sit down and blog about our happenings...sorry. Here's the abbreviated version:

Went to UK/Ireland for a friends wedding, see previous post here. We had an awesome time seeing the sites (London, Crantock, Dublin and Doolin) with our friend Grant. We also met up with Lea, Yonel and of course, the groom Ben.

Shortly after our trip Chris moved back to Ohio, FOR GOOD! I flew down for the weekend to see my girlfriends in NC and then we drove home. We've been working on house stuff and just enjoying the day-to-day experience of living together again (dog walks, grilling, Wednesday night sand volleyball ect.)

Chris signing out of Ft. Bragg:

Chris turned 27! We celebrated with a family cook out, homemade cheesecake and homemade mint ice cream. Thanks to all to made the trip to Columbus to spend time with the birthday boy. It wasn't an OSU theme'ed party but it sure seemed that way from the gifts he received :) Chris will be decked out when he starts school next month at Fisher.

We did beer can chicken, red skinned potatoes, asparagus, zucchini and squash on the grill...so good!

The next big event in our lives is school starting. My first day back to Capital is tomorrow and Chris starts orientation in September.

Not a recent photo, but on showing Max getting into the spirit for OSU football :)
