House Hunting Weekend-Take 2

Last weekend Chris, Max and I drove to Ohio to resume our house hunt. We saw about 10 places and really liked three of them! Our first choice was already in contract (boo!), we put a letter of intent on the second house but they weren’t willing to lower the price for the amount of work it needed and we put an offer on the third house but we weren’t able to make it work out. So this means over Easter we will be home again looking at more options. I’m definitely getting frustrated but have to remember there is a house out there for us; we just haven’t found it yet.
Max enjoyed playing with some friends of his own size over the weekend. We stayed with Tim, Danielle and Eddie (their new puppy) and the two dogs just loved playing together. On Friday, Sandy came down with her puppy Bandit (Eddie’s brother) and they were all just crazy!

Blockage Free!

Chris took Max back to the vet today for prep for surgery and x-rays show he is blockage free so he won’t be going under the knife for that issue! We thought something had changed because he stopped throwing up. Maybe it was all the playing with his friends this weekend while we were in Ohio. He will still be getting two teeth pulled next week.

Last weekend Chris and I ventured to Savannah (4 hour drive for us) to spend some time with his best friend, Zak and to enjoy the beautiful city. It also was St. Patrick’s weekend so there was plenty going on. We spent a lot of time with Chris’s WSU friends, who we rarely get to see.

Our (sort of) Sick Puppy

Chris took Max to the vet yesterday because he has been throwing up on a fairly regular basis (a few times a week). The Dr. Ellis felt over his stomach and he tried to get away when she reached a certain point. Next came x-rays, which showed 2 partial blockages; one where the stomach meets the intestines and another in the intestines. Max is still eating and passing his food so it’s not an emergency but it is something we need to address with surgery. So next Tuesday Chris is taking Max in again to receive barium and another round of x-rays so they can try to identify the blockage before the surgery. Chris and I are fairly certain the blockages are parts of toys that he has ingested but we will have to wait to see. While getting checked over, the vet noticed that he had two sets of 2 teeth, which will have to be pulled out and we’ve decided to get him fixed…maybe they can do it at the same time as the surgery???? I am very thankful that we are able to get this taken care while Chris is still here!

So this post has been a long time coming but I’ve been hesitant to put anything on the bog, because that makes it real: Chris will be deploying to Afghanistan late this spring with the 82nd Airborne Division Headquarters for one year. The Div. HQ will be taking over Regional Command East. If you would like to read about the deployment, it was in the Fayetteville Observer last week (click here). He will be filling the role of Battle Capitan while in Afghanistan, this means that he will be in a control room following all the military activity around the country and reporting it. So what does this mean for Sonya (& Max)? We are planning to move back to Ohio and have been on the hunt for a place to live in Columbus! No luck yet finding a place yet…
