Colorado Springs, Colorado

Over the weekend, Chris and I flew to Colorado for a long weekend with some of our North Carolina friends. We had a great time hanging out at Missy and Bryce's beautiful home, meeting all the babies, skiing at Vail, girls night out dinner and enjoying the beautiful city of Colorado Springs. We must have been busy having a good time because we only took one photo:

My latest projects

I had an ENTIRE MONTH off of school in December/January between terms and it was WONDERFUL! Not only was I able to spend time with Chris, Max, family and friends for the holidays and do lots of fun stuff (going to the zoo, putting up our Christmas tree, skiing at Seven Springs) and I was also able to check some projects off my list:

I made cook books for my North Carolina girlfriends of our collected recipes. Every time I make of of these dishes, I think of them:

I also made a few aprons as gifts. I loved this print and the simple pattern made it an easy, fun project:

Surprise (Not Really) Party!

On January 8th, we (my Mom,brothers, Aunt Mary and Uncle Larry, Chris and I) threw my dad a "surprise" party to celebrate his 50th birthday. We spent weeks coming up with a guest list, menu, getting the word out and asking everyone to keep it a secret :) We invited about 350 of his family and friends to help him celebrate. Well, he wasn't surprised by the party but he WAS surprised at the attendance :) Apparently, we aren't too good at keeping secrets! Anyways, it was a great party and we truly enjoyed being able to celebrate with him! Here's to 50 more years!

Seven Springs

Shortly after Christmas, we headed to Seven Springs for some skiing with my family. Here are a few photos of our trip:
