Clogged Sink

For the past couple of weeks my bathroom sink has been draining slow...I thought it was the massive amounts of hair that I loose on a daily basis. I tried to take care of the issue by myself but the Drano I poured in ended up coming out the pipes in the back, running all over the bathroom floor and leaving me with a bleached out rug and bath towels that I used to clean up the mess. It was time to call in an expert (and by expert, I mean Tim my handy brother in law). He had to fix a seal and unhook the pipe where it connects to the wall to pull out TWO CAPS (one was a tooth paste cap and the other was a larger cap). Seriously, how do these things get down there?!?! They must have been there when we bought the house because I haven't lost anything. I'm so happy to have my bathroom sink back! Thanks Tim!

Blond(ish) Highlights

Before haircut and highlight:

After, not to drastic but I did want something a little bit different.

And one of Max:

Whole Wheat Pizza Dough

For the Superbowl, I had a few guests over and we made individual pizzas...so fun. Everyone was able to pick their own toppings and get exactly what they wanted. I was asked for the crust recipe, so here it is:

1 package active dry yeast (I use rapid rise to save time)
1 1/4 c. warm water
3 c. whole wheat flour
1 1/2 t. salt
1 T. olive oil
Herbs and seasonings

In a large mixing bowl dissolve yeast in water. Let proof for 10 minutes. Add the flour, salt, olive oil, and seasonings of choice (I used basil, oregano, garlic and onion) and mix well. Once ingredients are mixed, knead dough until smooth, about 10 minutes (I use my KitchenAid Mixer for this). Place dough in an oiled bowl, turning to coat in oil, place damp towel over bowl and sit in a warm place until dough doubles (1 hour with reg. yeast). Punch down the dough and let it rest for another 10 minutes. Divide dough into 4 pieces and roll out (on a floured surface) each piece into a flat circle. Heat skillet to med-high on stove top with olive oil, place dough in skillet and cook until it rises and browns, then flip to other side. Once both sides have been browned, top with pizza toppings and place in a pre-heated 400 degree oven for 15-20 minutes or until cheese melts. Enjoy.

Note: These crusts are kind of like flat bread crusts because of cooking them on the stove top, if you want traditional crust skip this step.

When the weather looks like this....

Max looks like this....

Max is truly a North Carolina dog and HATES to cold, snowy Ohio weather! Here he is getting cozy while I work in my office.
